Introduction
Del City, Oklahoma, in Oklahoma county, is 2 miles W of Midwest City, Oklahoma and 4 miles E of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Part of the surrounding Oklahoma City metro area, Del City is home to some 22,128 residents.
History
Developer George Epperly purchased 160 acres at the corner of S.E. 29th Street and Sunnylane Road in 1946 with a plan to build fifty houses. Despite opposition, the unincorporated Epperly Heights and its 200 families voted to approve incorporation on October 9, 1948. In February 1959 Del City adopted a charter and a council-manager form of town government. The city was named for Epperly's daughter, Delaphene Campbell. Read more

Del City is located at 35°26′34″N 97°26′28″W (35.442711, -97.441149).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.5 square miles (19.5 km²), all of it land.

Education
Mid-Del Public Schools System is the main source of education in Del City with one High School, two Middle Schools and three Elementary schools located in Del City. Del City also has two Private Schools located in Del City.
Higher Education is easily available with Rose State College, Mid-Del Technology Center, Oklahoma City University and University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center all nearby.
Culture
An annual Armed Forces Day Parade is put on by the city and Shriners in May each year. Outdoor recreational areas include three bicycle and pedestrian trails and Eagle Lake. The city also boasts a water park behind the community center on S.E. 15th Street.

Religion
Del City's largest church, St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, was founded in 1956 as the St. Francis Xavier church. The parish had grown to 340 families by 1966 and broke ground on a new building on 10 acres along Sunnylane Road. Its name changed to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in 1967. Del City is now home to more than 20 churches of multiple denominations offering many options for families to worship.
