Be a Mentor, Make A Difference

This is your opportunity to touch the life of an outstanding youth in Del City, Oklahoma. DelQuest is a premiere youth leadership program for high school juniors in the Del City area. You can be an important part in this exciting three-day program. Be a MENTOR to a youth!

Last year, the mentor program was a huge success. To be a DelQuest Mentor this year, you will need to commit to three things:

  1. Once you have been assigned to a student, you will call your student the week before the program to congratulate him/her on being chosen and assure the student you will meet him/her during the job shadowing portion of the program that is to be scheduled by you during October 27-November 7. The shadowing experience if half a day. You may want to begin at 8:00 a.m. and break so the student can take a lunch and return to his/her school for afternoon classes. If you are not presently working, please make sure to meet with your student at a location to share how you are involved in the community. This is a shadowing program and we want to ensure that you experience this with your student.
  2. Be at the dinner on November 12, 2014, to meet your student, have dinner with him/her, and get to know each other at the Del City Community Center. The cost for dinner is $50 which includes you and your student. If you would like your spouse to attend, the total cost will be $60. Have a short bio of yourself (200 words or less) for your student. Include a message about what leadership means to you.
  3. Networking Dinner with Mentors on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at the Rose State College Professional Training Center at 5:30 p.m. This will give you more time to make a better connection with a future leader of Del City.

The Payoff:

You will be an important part of an outstanding youth program.
You will meet a terrific young person and have a chance to touch that student's life.
You will make a difference in the future of Del City and Eastern Oklahoma County.
