Del City sits at the crossroads of America and is poised to impact the economy of Central Oklahoma. The Chamber has had fantastic growth and shown great improvement in its ability to grow and sustain a healthy business atmosphere in this community. Through a cooperative effort with the City of Del City, the Chamber of Commerce has helped bring new business to the area and has helped existing businesses grow and prosper. Our partnership with the Mid-Del Public Schools, our Christian Schools and Rose State College has helped build a seamless educational opportunity that improves the quality of life for our families and their future. Our relationship with Tinker Air Force Base and specifically the 552nd Air Control Wing is second to none when it comes to supporting our men and women who sacrifice so much to maintain and insure our freedom. The DelQuest Student Leadership Program is now nearly fifteen years old and is setting the standard for training the leaders of tomorrow.
With all this success, what's left to do in 2015? The key word for 2015 will be INVESTMENT. Not just an investment of your money but just as important an investment of your time, gifts, energy, creativity and persistence. Be present and let your voice be heard when the Chamber provides a program where you can meet with municipal, county, state and federal officials. Be there to tell the people we have elected and entrusted to represent us that we want to preserve and promote a strong free enterprise system. Support the Chamber as we find new ways to appreciate the administrators and educators that provide us with an outstanding educational system. How many times should we appreciate our men and women in uniform? It's never enough. We must continuously find ways to thank and support our military, police, fire, EMS, public works, who are out there day and night giving us a safer today and a brighter tomorrow. And there is no greater investment than our students of today who will be our leaders tomorrow.
Should we invest? How do we invest? What do we invest? Those are the questions that we as individuals must answer so we can come together as a Chamber of Commerce to make a difference in our community.
Thank you for the opportunity to let me lead the Del City Chamber of Commerce in 2015 to help build a better today and a greater tomorrow in Del City, Oklahoma County and the great State of Oklahoma.
2015 Chamber President
